Celeb evictee Lisa Oldfield announces divorce on live TV

LISA Oldfield is the latest star to be evicted from I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, following her husband David’s elimination earlier this week.

The pair were booted from the show by viewers in the first two eliminations after their entry into the jungle on day 24 of the show.

Both Oldfields had been immediately divisive figures in the previously harmonious camp, frequently fighting with their fellow contestants and each other - to the point that Lisa indicated she’s considering divorcing her husband after her elimination.

David won few friends when he entered into ugly verbal stoushes with both Fiona O’Loughlin - over Indigenous issues - and Paul Burrell - over circumcision.

But free of her husband for the past week, Lisa had settled into camp life and even acted as pretend wedding planner for O’Loughlin and fellow comic Peter Rowsthorn’s mock wedding, shown during Thursday night’s episode.

Speaking to hosts Chris Brown and Julia Morris after her elimination, Oldfield had acknowledged that she’d “blossomed” after her husband left.

“He’s a twat… I will be speaking to a divorce lawyer. I feel like he is a boat anchor around my neck and after 17 years I’ve had a revelation,” said Oldfield, who announced that she “preferred” herself around her husband.

This isn’t the first time Oldfield has publicly threatened to divorce her husband, with the dysfunctional pair’s marital problems (and marriage counselling) a key storyline on the first season of Real Housewives of Sydney.

Oldfield’s threats to leave her husband also littered her social media posts and provided fodder for radio and TV interviews for the couple since Real Housewives wrapped.

We’re now towards the tail end of this season of I’m A Celeb, with a contestant eliminated every episode until the finale.

Earlier tonight, O’Loughlin - who declared herself “9 and three quarters” out of 10 on the scepticism scale when it comes to psychics - received a reading from celebrity medium John Edwards.

O’Loughlin admitted she was slightly rattled after the reading, in which Edwards honed in on her and asked questions about the near-death experience that left her in a coma.
