Yellow Wiggle Emma pulls out of tour due to chronic health condition

Children’s entertainer Emma Watkins, better known as the Yellow Wiggle Emma, is set to undergo surgery to help treat an ongoing chronic disease.

Watkins is battling endometriosis – a chronic condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows on other parts of the body.

It can appear in many different places, including the ovaries, fallopian tubes, the stomach and in or around the bladder and bowel and there is no cure.

The 28-year-old performer will be replaced by an understudy at shows on Tuesday on the Gold Coast, and later in April in South Australia and next month across NSW.

Watkins said the decision to undergo surgery was “difficult”.

“I have been in a lot of pain or the past couple of years,” she told the Daily Telegraph.
