A 15-year-old girl from Beverly Hills says she is being forced to live like a ‘peasant’ after her mother cut her allowance from $5,000 a month to $1,000.
Nicolette loves designer clothes and shopping on Rodeo Drive and has a handbag collection to die for.
Hero in a suit's biggest fan mum says he 'couldn't stand by' when bag thief tried to runBut she has now been forced to cut back her spending after her mum Nina cut her allowance.
The 15-year-old dragged her mum on to the Dr Phil show to argue that she should be giving her at least $2,500 (£1838) a month because she ‘works all the time’.
She told Dr Phil: ‘I want my mom to understand that I can’t live off $1,000 (£730) a month, and I grew up on a certain lifestyle. She can’t just take that away from me immediately.’
During the show, Nicolette told cameras that since she was a child, she was given everything she ever wanted, including a driver, a nanny and personal trainers.
Nina admitted that she gave her daughter credit cards without a limit from a ‘very young age’, with some bills being up to $10,000.
But after realising how spoiled Nicolette had become, Nina tried scaling back her allowance.
Yet the teenager refused to accept her new budget, saying: ‘I feel like a peasant. I can’t live like this anymore. I’m always out of money. If you ask me, I think my mom should be giving me at least $2,500 a month just to cover my basic expenses.’
Man jailed for murdering his boss and writing 'Bully' over her faceOn top of raising her allowance, Nicolette also says she expects her mum to buy her a $231,000 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen in matte black for her 16th birthday.
Her mum has agreed to buy her a Mercedes-Benz C-Class, but her response was: ‘I will not be driving anything that can be considered an Uber X.’
Nicolette wrote into the Dr Phil show in the hopes that her mum will realise she needs at least $2,500 to live on.
But her plan backfired, which Nina was actually glad about as she knew she needed help getting her daughter under control.
Speaking to Dr Phil, Nina said she spoilt her daughter because she always felt guilty about being a single mum who works six days a week.
The talk show host responded by telling her that she is essentially compromising her daughter’s values by giving her material goods.
Dr. Phil warned Nina that ‘overindulgence is a form of child abuse’ and said the pair needed to redefine their relationship, with Nina giving Nicolette more love and less money.
