How Infinity War ending was spoiled years ago

AVENGERS: Infinity War’s ending may have left audiences reeling, but it perhaps shouldn’t have come as that much of a surprise for fans of the franchise.

For those that need reminding, Infinity War concluded with half the Marvel superheroes dead after Thanos decided to destroy half the universe.

According to one eagle-eyed viewer on Tumblr, Infinity War’s ending was foreshadowed in 2016 flick Captain America: Civil War.

In a key scene where the superheroes debate signing the Sokovia Accords, Captain America, Black Widow and War Machine sit on one side of the table, while Scarlet Witch, Vision, and Falcon sit opposite.

Those on the left side survive the ending of Infinity War while those on the right died after Thanos got a hold of all six infinity stones.

Meanwhile Tony Stark sits away from the table — an apparent nod to him being apart from the other Marvel superheroes when tragedy strikes in Infinity War.

While the seating arrangement could be just a coincidence, it’s unlikely given the Marvel universe’s habit of placing Easter eggs in movies.
