Celebrities live it up at Emmy Awards after parties across Los Angeles

CELEBS have hit up a bevy of elite Emmys after parties following the glamorous awards ceremony — and the soirees are more opulent than you imagine.

Once the star-studded 70th annual Emmy Awards wrapped up, TV stars headed off to let their hair down, with Fox, HBO, Netflix and Hulu just a handful of the networks throwing wild bashes to toast the night.

Notorious life of the party Chrissy Teigen uploaded an Insta story with her singer husband John Legend, looking every bit the superstar in a sparkling silver gown.

The couple were seen living it up at the Hulu party at the Nomad Hotel which was no doubt a riot with Teigen in the house.

But as far as after parties go, the Governors Ball is the main event.

Themed ‘Emmys Under the Stars’ this year, the famous post-telecast celebration prepared to host about 8300 VIP guests on a rooftop at L.A Live Event Deck — the first time its been hosted outdoors.

There were more than 240 chefs, 20 executive chefs, 50 floor managers, 300 technicians, 50 bartenders and 600 servers on hand to wait on Hollywood’s elite, dishing up expensive champagne, succulent steaks and 24-carat gold desserts.

Emmy award winner Thandie Newton was seen with her shiny statue at the venue, sporting a stunning high-neck pastel pink gown as she made her way through the scores of partygoers.

The space was covered with dangling lights, and featured an epic dancefloor and stage, as well as lounges for celebs to kick their feet up on.

The furniture and decor featured shades of blue, white and metal tones.

The HBO party is no doubt also proving a hit among celebs, being the 20th year the network has hosted a party on TV’s night of nights.

Taking place at The Plaza at Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, the theme was ‘Garden of Eden’ as actors Emilia Clarke, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jon Mack, Jamie Lee and other A-listers rolled in to let their hair down.

The Amazon Prime Video Post Emmy Awards Party in West Hollywood also hosted some of tinsel town’s biggest names, including supermodel Emily Ratajkowski, Heidi Klum, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale.

The parties, which will be going well into the early hours of the morning, come after a memorable night full of surprises including an on-air marriage proposal, as HBO’s record-breaking fantasy epic Game of Thrones won the coveted best drama series.

The other big story of the Hollywood gala, television’s answer to the Oscars, was the huge success of The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, Amazon’s story of a 1950s housewife-turned-stand up comic, which took home eight Emmys overall, including the best comedy award.

The Handmaid’s Tale — last year’s best drama and an early favourite for more hardware in 2018 — went home empty-handed, after winning three minor awards handed out a week ago.

The ceremony hosted by Saturday Night Live regulars Colin Jost and Michael Che took on a decidedly political hue at the start, with a barrage of edgy jokes on hot-button issues from diversity in Hollywood to #MeToo and Donald Trump.
