Kanye Storms “SNL” With 3 Wild Performances, Political Speech: Watch

Kanye West is the musical guest on tonight’s season premiere of “Saturday Night Live.” On the episode, hosted by Adam Driver, he performed “I Love It” with Lil Pump. Kanye dressed as a Perrier bottle and Pump was a Fiji bottle as they rapped with Adele Givens projected on a screen behind them. They modified the chorus to, “You’re such a freaky girl,” though Kanye still used profanities throughout the track.

For his second appearance, Kanye brought out Teyana Taylor to play a new song. The song, which leaked earlier this summer, includes the lyrics, “We got love, love love/You better believe it.” It appears to feature a voice memo from Lauryn Hill, which Taylor previously teased on Twitter.

Kanye performed for a third time as the credits rolled. While wearing a MAGA hat, he invited 070 Shake, Kid Cudi, and Ty Dolla $ign (on guitar) to play “Ghost Town” from ye. Cudi also appeared in a sketch earlier in the show.

After the show ended, Kanye stayed on stage and gave a speech to the “SNL” audience, captured on Chris Rock’s Instagram story. In the clips, Kanye mentions his old promise that he would run for president in 2020. He also addressed his affinity for Trump, saying, “So many times I talk to a white person about this and [they] say, ‘How could you like Trump he’s racist?’ Well, if I was concerned about racism I would’ve moved out of America a long time ago.” Watch clips from all the appearances below.

Earlier this week, Kanye confirmed that his new album, Yandhi, would arrive tonight. It follows his solo album ye and his collaborative record with Kid Cudi, Kids See Ghosts. Earlier this summer, he also produced a series of albums for Pusha-T, Nas, and Teyana Taylor.

In the days leading up to his “SNL” appearance, Kanye took to social media to co-sign ASAP Bari, the ASAP Mob co-founder and VLONE head who was was arrested earlier this year and charged with two counts of sexual assault. He credited Bari with the success of “I Love It.” “Bari challenged me when no one else did and when he got in trouble I was scared to say he was my friend just like I did with xxx and that was some pussy shit on my part,” Kanye wrote.

In recent months, West has been teasing a new album with Chance the Rapper called Good Ass Job. He also hinted that a sequel to his JAY-Z collaboration Watch the Throne was “coming soon.”
