Mystery gap in Meghan and Harry's visit: Will they stay in secret hideaway?

A MYSTERY three-day gap has emerged in Harry and Meghan’s Aussie visit, with speculation mounting the royal couple will spend the missing days at a secret hideaway on the Sunshine Coast.

Despite few details of official duties in the Prime Minister’s Department preliminary royal tour outline, it clearly reveals a mystery gap.

After arriving in Sydney, flying to Dubbo and Melbourne and Queensland’s Fraser Island, the royal couple appear to drop off the face of the Earth between October 23 and 25.

News.com.au has learned that, as his older brother and sister-in-law the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge did on their 2014 visit, Prince Harry has sought private time in Australia with his wife.

A prime location is the hideaway of Meghan’s former Suits TV co-star Gabriel Macht and his Australian actor wife, Jacinda Barrett.

The four-bedroom boho-chic property is tucked away at a beachside location near the vast Noosa National Park, 160km north of Brisbane.

The house with pool lies — handily, if you want to avoid invasive media — at the end of a no through road.

It belongs to the family of Barrett, a model turned actor who starred in the Netflix series Bloodline.

Barrett and husband Macht, the New York-born actor who played Meghan Markle’s character’s boss in Suits, were guests at the royal wedding in May.

After the wedding, reports said that the newlyweds were invitees to the Sunshine Coast holiday house Barrett’s family has owned for 12 years.

The acting couple has two young children, are vegetarian and practice “green living”.

Described as the perfect destination for a romantic weekend, the possible royal hideaway is close to deserted beaches, pristine rolling surf and a calm, laid-back atmosphere.

The nearby national park has wildlife including koalas and black cockatoos.

Meghan and Harry arrive in Sydney for 12 days to open the Invictus Games, and undertake engagements to “highlight youth leadership programs, local communities, environmental and conversation efforts”.

Their visit to UNESCO world heritage site Fraser Island follows Prince Charles’ declaring the island part of the Queen’s conservation program in April.

Noted as the world’s largest sand island, the protection aims to preserve the natural heritage of its indigenous forests.

Meghan and Harry will visit Fraser Island on Monday, October 22, vanish for their mystery three days, return to Sydney on October 26 for three days and then fly off to Fiji and New Zealand.
