Prince Harry's adorable moment with Meghan Markle at charity cookbook launch

WHEN it comes to Meghan Markle, Prince Harry is here to help — in whatever way he can.

The Duke of Sussex was joined by Meghan’s mum, Doria Ragland, in supporting his new wife at the launch of her new charity cookbook at Kensington Palace on Thursday.

Proving just how useful he is to have around, Prince Harry was seen quickly springing into action as Meghan, 37, was hit by a sudden gust of wind while addressing the crowd.

She was seen trying to get her shiny locks out of her face before Prince Harry, 34, leaned forward and helped smooth it down.

Prince Harry proudly watched on as his wife of four months took centre stage on her first solo project, releasing the Together: Our Community Cookbook.

In sweet videos shared by attendees, the Duke was also seen resting his head on Meghan’s shoulder, and sneaking extra samosas behind his back out of the dining tent.

The charity cookbook includes 50 recipes compiled by a group of women who run the Hubb Community Kitchen, which is an initiative based near the site of the Grenfell Tower in London’s west.

A fire broke out in the 24-storey apartment block in June last year, causing 72 deaths and leaving more than 70 others injured.

All proceeds of the cookbook, which is now available in stores, will go back to the Hubb and Grenfell Tower victims.

Ms Ragland, who flew to London from Los Angeles earlier this week, was heard introducing herself as “Meg’s mum” to members of the group throughout the day.

Meghan delivered a heartwarming speech to the guests — without relying on any notes — and described the project as a “tremendous labour of love”.

“I said in the foreword that this is more than a cookbook,” she said.

“And what I mean by that is the power of food is more than just the meal itself — it is the story behind it.

“When you get to know the story of the recipe you get to know the person behind it.

“And that’s what we’re talking about in terms of coming together, to really engage and talk and to be able to celebrate what connects us rather than what divides us.

“That I believe is the ethos of together.”

The $18 book is already a bestseller on Amazon, with thousands of people rushing to pre-order their copy.

In her foreword in the book, Meghan said the kitchen was a “place for women to laugh, grieve, cry and cook”.

“I had just recently moved to London and I felt so immediately embraced by the women in the kitchen and their warmth and their kindness,” she said.

“On a personal level, I feel so proud to live in a city with so much diversity. There are 12 different countries represented just in this room. It’s pretty outstanding.

“Everyone embraced this so deeply because it’s been a passionate project for all of us — and for good reason.”

Shortly after moving to London late last year, Meghan began making secret visits to the kitchen to work with volunteers on the project.
