GOGGLEBOX breakout stars Wayne Mott and Tom Walsh may be set to leave the show, after Walsh revealed that he thinks “it’s time” they walk away from the hit reality series.
The couple, who’ve been together for 17 years and have been on-air on Gogglebox since 2015, have become one of the most popular households on Ten and Foxtel’s co-production, which sees everyday Australians commentate some of the biggest TV moments of each week.
In an October 6 episode of Joy FM podcast Word for Word , Walsh told interviewer Benjamin Norris he and his partner planned to leave the show at the end of the current, eighth season.
“Tonight I start filming episode seven, and I think I have about three more left,” he said.
“I think we’re out of contract.”
He explained that an offer of more money could not lure the couple to stay on.
“I’ve had a lot of fun. And I think its just time. Me and Wayne are ready to retire. We’re ready to buy a farm and go bush.”
The pair have made hay with their reality TV fame, earlier this year releasing a book of their favourite cocktail recipes.
