Radio royalty steps out for annual ACRA awards in Melbourne

RADIO royalty has stepped out in style — and sparkles — for the Australian Commercial Radio Awards in Melbourne on Saturday.

Kate Ritchie, Carrie Bickmore and Amanda Keller led the style stakes for the annual event. Most of Australia’s biggest radio stars, including Mick Molloy, Jane Kennedy, Dave Hughes, Kate Langbroek, Tim Blackwell, Marty Sheargold, Grant Denyer, and Ed Kavalee all attended the big night in Melbourne.

Shock jock Kyle Sandilands pulled out at the last minute and as a result he was mocked mercilessly during the ceremony by hosts and Chaser comedians Chris Taylor and Andrew Hansen.

Kate Ritchie was a standout in her knee-length Rachel Gilbert gown. Sparkling from head to toe, the co-host of Nova’s drive show added a pop of colour with red heels and a Ferragamo evening bag.

Carrie Bickmore, who hosts the Carrie and Tommy Show on 2 DAY FM, stunned in a pink off-the-shoulder Scanlan Theodore frock.

Bickmore, who announced her pregnancy in June this year, said it was the first time she’d worn “heels in months”.

Amanda Keller from WSFM’s Jonesy and Amanda stood out in a figure hugging floorlength gown with floral detail around the waist.

Melissa Doyle from Smooth FM kept her look simple and elegant in a Rachel Gilbert gown, and also picked up the award for Best Music Presenter.
