Model Elle Macpherson stacks it while leaving a Sydney florist

FOR decades, walking was literally Elle Macpherson’s job.

The supermodel has walked the runway for every luxury fashion designer and has appeared on more Vogue covers than you could fit on your bookshelf.

Now Macpherson has carved out a career renaissance in the wellness industry with her successful line of supplements, sunscreens and expensive water bottles. Plus, she’s paid hundreds of thousands of dollars just to show up to events.

But despite all of that, it seems even supermodels have bad days. For Macpherson, yesterday was one of those.

The 54-year-old has been busy with events surrounding the Spring Racing Carnival. She was paid by car brand Lexus to make an appearance at Derby Day in Melbourne on the weekend.

Macpherson flew into Sydney yesterday and had her driver stop by a florist so she could pick up a large bouquet.

As she left the San Souci flower shop, located in Sydney’s south, Macpherson politely greeted waiting paparazzi while decked out in flared leather pants and high-heeled boots.

She was led to a waiting car by her driver, then lost her footing and fell to the ground in between the car and the gutter.

Paparazzi video footage shows Macpherson’s driver attempting to pull his passenger out of the gutter.

It was a less graceful exit than the one Macpherson made out of Melbourne airport last week ahead of her appearance at Flemington.

She raised eyebrows in the Birdcage with her unusual outfit choice — a white jumpsuit by Australian designer Toni Maticevski with a frilly skirt overlay and a white Philip Treacy hat cowboy hat.

When asked to remove her Alexander McQueen sunglasses by photographers, she refused.

“It’s part of the look!” she told reporters.

“I just can’t wait to get out and see what people are wearing. People look beautiful and the black and white theme makes for a very pretty picture when you walk in,” she said.
