Roxy Jacenko helps Seven pip Nine in overnight ratings

Roxy Jacenko and Oliver Curtis

Seven's interview with PR queen Roxy Jacenko on its Sunday Night programme has helped boost the network to an overall ratings win overnight.

The interview, which saw Jacenko and husband Oliver Curtis discuss their struggles following Curtis' conviction and imprisonment for insider trading, drew in 571,000 metro viewers and led the evening programming slot.

Jacenko, known for founding PR business Sweaty Betty and socialite status, broke down during the interview where she openly discussed her "fast" life following Curtis' imprisonment.

She admitted to "indulging" in things she shouldn't have, which included an affair with ex-boyfriend and property developer Nabil Gazal.

The programme generated backlash on social media, with viewers questioning the decision to air an interview that was "vapid" and lacked "emotion".

Others questioned as to whether Jacenko and Seven were working on a project together, such as a reality TV show, and called out the segment as a PR stunt for her recently released book.

Seven also led the primetime slot overnight, with its newest reality singing show All Together Now - The 100 drawing in 717,000 viewers, making it the most popular program of the night outside of the nightly news bulletins.

Nine's 60 Minutes was the next closest program on the commercial networks, with 666,000 viewers. The network's reality police program RBT also drew 507,000 viewers.

On Ten, The Graham Norton Show was the network's highest-rated program, with 366,000 viewers.

In the overnight main channel race, Seven pipped Nine to the post with a 20.7% share, over Nine's 19.4%.

Ten managed to hold onto a double-digit share, with 10.1% but was beaten by the ABC, which generated a 10.8% share.
