Fresh from his lavish honeymoon and wedding, Karl Stefanovic left a telling clue on his Instagram account which could expose his true feelings towards Today show bosses after he was axed from the breakfast show.

The former co-host, who will stay on at Channel 9 despite being dropped from Today, ‘liked’ a scathing social media comment from a fan which stated that Nine chiefs were wrong to drop him.

“There’s always three sides to a story, his, hers and somewhere in between … but it’s none of anyone else’s business anyway!” the fan’s comment read.

“I can’t wait until the ratings drop even lower and they realise it wasn’t you that was the problem after all.”

The fan comment, endorsed by Stefanovic, takes a very different tone and standpoint to the statement the newly wed TV star gave shortly after he landed in Sydney shortly after being axed on December 19.

“I suppose, as they say, a change is as good as a holiday, I’m looking forward to getting back to work. I’m moving forward with a sense of excitement about what’s to come,” Stefanovic said in a statement.

“I’m happy to be home with my family and friends. I’m looking forward to Christmas with loved ones. I’ve got a lot to be thankful for.”

This was compounded by a smiley selfie of Karl, his new wife Jasmine Yarbrough and their dog Chance the Yapper — which he uploaded onto Instagram yesterday.

“Some one (sic) found the scoobie snacks,” he wrote. “Happy days. Merry Christmas and happy new year everyone. Xx.”

It was under this post that Stefanovic saw the “ratings” comment from a fan.

However, it was clear that everything wasn’t exactly hunky dory when the 44-year-old exploded in an expletive-filled rage on Christmas Day, after a photographer took a picture of him at Gold Coast airport.

As Stefanovic strolled past the baggage carousel with his new wife he noticed the man snapping him.

Footage shows the tense and angry moment the axed morning show star walks over and explodes into a fit of rage — asking angrily whether the photographer had a “disease”.

“Take your f**king camera and get out that f**king door, it’s f**king Christmas,” Stefanovic was heard yelling as he stormed over to the photographer.

“It’s Christmas Day and you’re taking photos on Christmas Day,” he said in the footage, as Yarbrough waits for the couple’s bags.

“Why are you shaking? Have you got some disease? Are you sick in the head? You got a s**t job. It’s Christmas day. Go home!”

Children nearby were reportedly ushered away from the foul-mouthed rant.

In the new year, it’s understood the newly wed TV star will now have to serve a period of rehabilitation at Nine’s flagship current affairs show 60 Minutes before he can return to his star status.
