Living legend Olivia Newton-John has issued a statement refuting tabloid rumours that she has weeks left to live, telling her fans that “the rumours of my death have been greatly exaggerated”.
Taking to Twitter, the 70-year-old Grease star responded to allegations published on tabloid site Radar Online that her fight against cancer is reaching its final stages.
“I’m doing great, and I want to wish all of you the happiest, healthiest 2019 that’s possible,” she said in the cheery video.

The personal statement comes after her US representative Michael Caprio rebuffed the tabloid’s claims, telling News Corp the allegations were “hilarious”.
Tottie Goldsmith, Newton-John’s niece, also shared a photo affirming Australian champ’s wellbeing.
Newton-John was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992, which was treated with chemotherapy and a mastectomy. She was again diagnosed with cancer in 2013, and received treatment for a malignant tumour in her shoulder. In 2017, she revealed a new tumour had developed in her spine.
Newton-John remains a vocal advocate for cancer research, and is the namesake of Melbourne‘s own Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre.
