The Masked Singer: Why we think Rob Mills is the Wolf - NEWS.com.au

Former Australian Idol contestant and Neighbours actor Rob Mills has been unmasked as one of the celebrities behind the final three masks on The Masked Singer.

Denying rumours of his involvement in the guessing-game style singing competitionsince it first aired, Mills has been able to throw viewers off his scent for the duration of the perplexing show — even though his cover was almost blown when a producer at Fox FM’s Fifi, Fev & Bryon show tagged Mills in a picture he tweeted of himself with the wolf.

Fans have been speculating that Mills was underneath the robot’s mask when Channel 10 released a bunch of telling hints about who the celebrities appearing on the show could be.

Here are all the clues that point to the star:

• Photos of both Kylie Minogue and Holly Valance — who have starred in Neighbours — in the wolf’s bedroom referenced Mills’ role on the show.

• “Am I the wolf? I have the reputation. Maybe that’s why I’m up all night” — Mill’s one album to date was titled Up All Night.

• “As a pup, I was keen on sport” — the wolf said while holding an AFL football. Mills is a dedicated Hawks supporter and “growing up in Melbourne meant AFL was part of his being.”

• “It was my dream to make it to the top with huge crowds cheering me on” — He competed on Australian Idol, making it into the top five as he performed in front of cheering audiences each week.

• “I’m constantly being misjudged and underestimated” — Mills has transitioned to a prolific musical theatre career, but some still associated him with that infamous Paris Hilton one-night stand.

• Mills also starred on The Celebrity Apprentice, with a hint revealing the wolf has “been an apprentice a couple of times”.

• “Getting to where I am now is a miracle, like walking on water.” — in 2017, Mills played Jesus in rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar.

Appearing on our TV screens for the first time in 2003, it wasn’t long before the ex-Australian Idol star was spotted partying with socialite Paris Hilton where he wound up staying in her hotel room after a shindig following the finale of Australian Idol at Osher Günsberg’s house.

The pair then spent the day at the Melbourne Cup and the next two weeks together before she flew out of Australia.

Responding to the whirlwind romance Mills said he had reunited with Hilton a year later but put an end to their relationship because she was “not that interesting”.

Following the success of a national Idol tour, Mills was quickly signed to BMG. His first single Ms. Vanity debuted at #6 on the Australian charts, reaching gold status. His only album, Up All Night was released in 2004.

Taking on lead roles in several musical theatre productions, Millsy is no stranger to being on stage and captivating an audience. Having starred in Grease, Puttin’on the Ritz, Legally Blonde, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Ghost the Musical, Mills has become a regular on the Australian theatre circuit.

Securing appearances on prerecorded and live TV, including a stint on Celebrity Apprentice, Dirty Laundry Live, The Project, Dancing with the Stars, Spics and Specs, and The Footy Show, Mills has established himself as one of Australia’s biggest entertainers.

Now, Mills is a season regular in Neighbours, Australia’s longest running drama, playing troubled Finn Kelly.

The Masked Singer finale airs tonight at 7.30 on Channel 10
