The Honey Badger has a brand new job.
After a week of speculation, rumours and guessing, footballer Nick Cummins has been announced as the next Bachelor.
Revealed on The Project on Wednesday night, Cummins, who is known as the Honey Badger, was shown in a white shirt, undone tie and a red rose—the perfect vision of a Bachelor.
“Physically striking, successful and smart, the sporting talent of this wild-haired winger, Nick’s wicked sense of humour and his distinctive, witty one-liners have made him a hero, both on and off the field,” a statement from Channel 10 said, listing the reasons why the Wallabies star was their choice of leading man.

“Earning the moniker ‘Honey Badger’ because of his strength, ferocity and toughness, Nick displayed a flamboyant, never-say-die approach on the field, which captivated crowds,” the statement continued.
Cummins confirmed he’s excited to find love, saying he’s always put his career before relationships but now wants to change that.
“I’m really looking forward to throwing everything at this opportunity to finding the one,” he said. “The past 10 or so years has been on the road playing rugby or working on my projects, so I’m very excited to be part of a show that is centred around love and good times.”
Cummins is known for his cheeky attitude, one-liner quips and humour on and off the field, and has built up a reputation for being the most loveable man in football.
It hasn’t yet been announced when the show will air, but it will likely directly follow The Bachelor in Paradise, set to premiere on Sunday, March 25.
