WE’RE only a few months into 2018 but social media is obsessed with what looks to be the year’s biggest celebrity scandal: Who bit Beyonce?It all started after Girls Trip star Tiffany Haddish told GQ that an actress at a party bit the superstar’s face at a party in December.
“There was this actress there,” Haddish said. “That’s just, like, doing the mostest. She bit Beyonce in the face.”
The actress said Beyonce went over to her husband, rapper Jay Z, and told him what happened and they apparently disappeared to the back of the room.
“So Beyoncé stormed away … went up to Jay-Z, and was like, ‘Jay! Come here! This b***h …’ and snatched him,” Haddish told the magazine.
“They went to the back of the room. I was like, ‘What just happened?’ And Beyoncé’s friend walked up and was like, ‘Can you believe this b***h just bit Beyoncé?’”
“So I said to Beyoncé, ‘Did she really bite you?’ She was like, ‘Yeah,’” Haddish continued.
“I was like, ‘She gonna get her ass beat tonight.’ She was like, ‘Tiffany, no. Don’t do that. That b***h is on drugs. She not even drunk. The bitch is on drugs. She not like that all the time. Just chill.’”
The internet went into a tizzy trying to identify the alleged assailant, with bookies placing short odds on Lena Dunham, while Jennifer Lawrence, Scarlett Johansson, Amy Schumer, Gwneth Paltrow and Lindsay Lohan have all been thrown into the mix.
According to the New York Post, American actresses Sarah Foster and Sanaa Lathan have been forced to deny reports they were the culprits because they were reportedly at the shindig.
After being trolled by Beyonce’s fans, Foster, 37, and Lathan, 46, quickly denied the accusations.
“Y’all are funny. Under no circumstances did I bite Beyonce and if I did it would’ve been a love bite,” Lathan tweeted overnight.
Foster posted a screencap of an email from The Insider requesting a comment on Haddish’s perhaps tall tale, writing, “Flattering that anyone thinks I could get this close to Beyoncé.”
Swimsuit model Chrissy Teigen actually implicated herself briefly before launching her own investigation into the matter.
“I cannot leave this planet without knowing who bit Beyonce in the face,” the model tweeted Monday. “I can only think of one person who would do this. but I cannot say. but she ….is the worst.”
She quickly followed with, “Update it is NOT the person I think is the worst. IM DONE … I AM NEVER TELLING I’m scared I’ve said too much KNOWLEDGE IS A CURSE! … You know how much s**t I have said and done to famous people?? I had to verify with john it wasn’t *me*.”
As for Haddish, she had previously told Vulture about the party saying that she had wanted to fight someone, but that Beyonce had told her to have a “good time” instead.
She also alluded to the fact that another actress had “touched” Jay Z’s chest, which led to serious Beyonce shade.
“She started talking to the other actress and some other stuff happened, but I’m not gonna say nothin’ yet,” Haddish said at the time. “But it’s gonna be in these streets.”
Beyoncé has even pointed to Haddish’s storytelling skills in a verse of the DJ Khaled single, Top Off, singing, “If they’re tryna party with the queen/They gon’ have to sign a nondisclosure.”
