Channel Nine's Sylvia Jeffreys' compares her wedding pictures to those of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

WE can’t all have a fairytale royal wedding free of dramas like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle — most of us have come to that conclusion.

That includes Channel Nine presenter Sylvia Jeffreys, who has moved to point out the difference between expectations and reality, for most commoners, when it comes to that special day.

While US Bishop Michael Curry’s sermon might have gone a little off script, Saturday’s wedding at Windsor Castle appeared to go off without a hitch to the billions who watched on from around the world.

But few of us can say our own big day went by so smoothly.

Jeffreys took to Instagram to starkly illustrate the difference between royalty and the general public, even if they are Australian TV celebs.

She shared flawless pictures from the Royal Family’s official collection and compared them with snaps from her own marriage to Peter Stefanovic in NSW”s Kangaroo Valley in April last year.

“I’m thoroughly impressed by the royal family’s ability to wrangle children for wedding photos,” she wrote in caption accompanying the pics.

“Wish they’d share their secrets. Swipe for our reality #weddingphotofails #catchmeifyoucan #harryandmeghan”

In the photos, newlyweds Jeffreys and Stefanovic struggled to get a troupe of toddlers together for a commemorative snap.

The bride and groom appeared rather upset and frustrated the children won’t obey and they can’t get the shot right.

The Royals had no such trouble.

However Jeffreys and Stefanovic’s glamorous affair was hardly your average wedding.

The tightly guarded event of the Channel Nine sweethearts was hailed as one of Australia’s weddings of the year in 2017.

As always it was Peter’s controversial brother Karl who stole the headlines post wedding after audio of him proclaiming of him and his sibling: “We got beautiful heads, we don’t pay for s**t, agents deliver it,” was made public.

Sylvia Jeffrey’s wedding comparison came 48 hours after her Channel Nine stablemate Allison Langdon had a crack at Meghan Markle’s wedding dress in the network’s coverage of the event.

Langdon, who hosted the network’s coverage live from Windsor, told viewers her first thought upon seeing Meghan was that she had copied the look.

“It was Princess Mary. My first thought was that we had seen the dress before. I don’t think she’ll be setting wedding trends,” she said.

“I think she did copy Princess Mary. It looked stunning on her but she went with pure white,” she continued.

“A lot of people thought she might go with an ivory number since this was not her first wedding.”

Australian-born Princess Mary, formerly Mary Donaldson, also wore a boatneck-style dress when she married Denmark’s Prince Frederik in 2004.

Meanwhile, Channel Seven was slammed by viewers for their coverage of the wedding of the year.

Some viewers said the coverage, hosted by Melissa Doyle and Michael Usher, was not well-researched enough. They were also criticised for at times blocking the camera’s view.

“Really disappointed by the quality of the Channel Seven coverage. No evidence of research. Nauseating guest commentator,” one person said.

“I wish Channel Seven could tell us who the guests are,” another critic lamented.
