Kate Ritchie's night out with husband Stuart Webb

KATE Ritchie has made a rare public appearance with her husband Stuart Webb, taking in the sights at Vivid with their daughter Mae.

The Nova radio host and her former-footballer husband Stuart Webb enjoyed a family outing in Sydney on Wednesday night.

The family headed into Circular Quay to catch the sights of Vivid, Sydney’s annual festival which sees colourful light installations splashed across the city’s landmarks.

Ritchie and Webb also headed to a nearby restaurant in The Rocks, with three-year-old Mae appearing more interested in her mum’s sunglasses than the food.

The family night out is a rare public appearance for Ritchie and Webb, who have been forced to repeatedly rebuff untrue rumours about their relationship.

The former soap star told Stellar last year she now just ignores the magazine speculation around her marriage.

“I think in the old days it did [bother me]. There’s no point in getting bogged down about what other people think is happening in my life,” she said.

“The only positive in having the magazines write about my love life is that I know the Hewitts are getting a week off.”

Ritchie and Webb married in 2010 and welcomed their daughter Mae in 2014.

In a candid Instagram post last November, Ritchie wrote that she was “tired of protecting” Mae and wanted to “rejoice in her”, sharing the first unobscured photo of her daughter on social media.

Since leaving Home and Away in 2007, Ritchie has gone on to forge a successful career in radio and currently appears on Nova’s drivetime show Kate, Tim and Marty.

She recently told news.com.au that it had taken her four years to give herself credit for the show’s achievements.

“I’m not the most experienced person in the room,” she said. “But I also have to give myself credit for what I do bring to the show.

“I think that’s what four years down the track has taught me. I’m no longer gasping for air. “Nova continue to employee me and renegotiate with me, so I must be doing something right, so I need to give myself a bit of credit for that.

“And if the boys give me a hard time about my importance in the building, it’s up to me to keep batting it back.”
