People Have Turned This Woman's Unfortunate Tinder Date Into A Hilarious Meme

Tinder dates, like most dates, can go a lot of ways. It can end on a sad note with someone calling you ‘fat’. Or it can turn out to be a ‘Hunger Games’ inspired social experiment. And if things get really bad, it can result in a murder. However, for one Australian woman, her experience ended up being a meme, but not because of her.

Alita Brydin from Melbourne Australia wrote about her Tinder date for a lifestyle magazine called Mamamia. And to be honest, the conclusion was a little cliched.

The messages we exchanged were personal, intimate, yet so mundane.
My phone was filled with pictures of his cooking – he took me on the step by step journey of making pasta – selecting the ingredients, making the dough, working the half-falling-apart pasta maker.
He took pride in his cooking – and I saw it as a sign that he was a man ready to make a home.
The day finally came. I saw him confidently approaching me, striding past the Asian grocer, the dingy Chinese takeout.
Without saying a word he laid his lips on me, laid his palm on my lower back and kissed me. It was happening. Everything was coming together.
Looking in my phone the next day, I was elated. He’d been quiet – but that was OK – now we’d met each other, touched, kissed, I was secure. Until a message popped up.
‘Stay away from my boyfriend.’

So, now you might be thinking that how did this become a meme? Well, you can blame the Daily Mirror for that.

The Daily Mirror, which is a British tabloid newspaper, reported on this woman’s Tinder date and the headline for its Twitter version was open to interpretations.

As you can see, the Daily Mirror went for a headline to raise intrigue without revealing the real reason for shattering of the Tinder date. And people began a guessing game that turned this story into a meme.

In an attempt to mock the headline, netizens started guessing what those five words were that broke Alita’s date, and the results are hilarious.

1. “How the hell’d we wind up like this.”

2. That’s one way of looking at Farage.

3. Damn nerds!

4. Someone’s feeling savage.

5. Quite possibly.

6. Hold on there now!

7. Tinder date: Rated R.

8. Take that back, right now.

9. Interesting wordplay.

10. Absolutely barbaric!

11. Wow, that’s true talent.

12. Did he now?

13. Fact of the day, or is it?

14. This reference involves Donald Trump, Stormy Daniels and Mario Kart.

15. Ouch!

The five words that would probably bring any Indian Tinder date to a bitter conclusion is “I love biriyani with roti“.
