The little boy who captured hearts across the globe when he broke royal protocol and embraced Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is "always the star of the show".
Five-year-old Luke Vincent presented cheekily played with Harry's beard and threw his arms around the royal's pregnant wife in heartfelt scenes at Dubbo Airport yesterday.
The kindergarten student is embracing his new-found celebrity status, but Buninyong Public School Principal, Anne van Dartel, said his affection is nothing out of the ordinary.
"That's how he runs his day everyday," she told TODAY.
"He is generous with all his hugs to everybody in our school community.
"We weren't surprised when he went in for the big hug yesterday."
Ms van Dartel said his parents were overjoyed when they learned of the global response to their son's once in a lifetime encounter.
"They were very excited to know he is such a young man and they have shared the joy they experience every day in their house with the whole world," she said.
"We are very lucky they have agreed to share their beautiful child with us."
Luke said Harry was his favourite royal and recounted the young prince's most memorable feature.
"A beard," Luke said.
