Adorable new photos show Prince Charles, doting grandfather

ADORABLE photographs taken to mark Prince Charles’ 70th birthday show the close bond he shares with grandson Louis.

Doting grandfather Charles has a large smile on his face as he cradles Louis in the gardens of Clarence House, The Sun reports.

A shot featuring The Prince of Wales with his family also shows cheeky Louis squeezing his grandad’s face as they try to pose.

The selection of images includes Charles at Highgrove feeding his prized Burford brown and Marans chickens.

He collects their eggs every morning in his wellies and the chickens obediently follow him, ready for their breakfast.

The images are part of a set to mark his 70th birthday, which was last Wednesday.

Another shot shows Charles surrounded by his grandchildren Prince George, who sat on his grandfather’s knee, Princess Charlotte, cuddled next to Camilla, as Prince Louis smiled in his mother’s arms — although the Queen and Prince Philip were absent.

The family gathered for the photo, which was taken by photographer Chris Jackson, on a bench in the gardens of Clarence House.

One picture shows him sharing a laugh with Harry and William in full RAF regalia.

Another picture shows him posing next to his beloved Aston Martin — which he converted to run on wine instead of petrol.

He said last month: “They discovered they could run it on surplus English white wine, but also I hadn’t realised that they had mixed whey into it too.

“The engineers at Aston said, ‘Oh, it’ll ruin the whole thing.’

“I said, ‘Well I won’t drive it then’, so they got on with it and now they admit that it runs better and is more powerful on that fuel than it is on petrol.

“And also, it smells delicious as you’re driving along.”

The car is powered by a bioethanol fuel called E85, which can be derived from a number of sources including surplus white wine, and is mixed with a small amount of petrol.
