IT was the Bride and Prejudice breakup that every viewer saw coming, but no-one could have predicted it would be this ugly.
News.com.au can reveal that Izzy and Simon will break up for good during Monday’s episode of the Channel 7 reality TV show after an on-set argument spiralled out of control.
Dramatic scenes show Izzy slamming the door and storming away from Simon as she tells him her mum was right — “you are the devil!”
Simon manages to catch up with Izzy outside, where he asks her what every upset girl wants to hear: “What’s up?”
“What’s up?! Seriously, it is the last time I’ll have you lie to me,” a fuming Izzy replies.
“Look me in the eye, look me in the eye and tell me it meant anything? I loved you with everything that I had!”
“That’s wonderful,” Simon replies.
“That’s wonderful? That’s all I get — that’s wonderful!?” Izzy screams back.
Back at the retreat, Izzy is met by Bride and Prejudice’s other couples and tells Ange that her wedding to Simon is off.
“Like not getting married to him done?” Ange asks.
“Oh yeah, I’m done,” she replies.
Strangely, Izzy also apologises to Hank’s fiancee Lily, who comforts her with a hug and says: “Don’t be sorry, I’m worried about you.”
Meanwhile, as time passes Simon is nowhere to be seen and has been missing somewhere in the grounds of the retreat for four hours.
“(He’s) wandering around in the forest and I don’t feel comfortable,” a worried Melissa tells Izzy.
It’s likely Simon and Izzy’s relationship ending argument has something to do with what happened on Tuesday night’s episode.
Simon was hooked up to a lie detector by Izzy’s mum Bobbi and friend Amanda, which found he had been lying about his sobriety.
The Melbourne couple went on Bride and Prejudice to try and convince Bobbi and Amanda that Simon had reformed his bad boy ways.
Simon had struggled with alcohol abuse and had cheated on Izzy repeatedly during their relationship.
Prior to getting married, the couple had decided their relationship would be open, paving the way for Simon to keep sleeping with other women — something Izzy was defensive about at a group dinner party last week.
After repeated questions about their non-monogamous relationship, Izzy pointed an accusing finger at the other couples and claimed their upcoming marriages were “no less threatened” by outside people.
—Bride and Prejudice continues Wednesday night at 7.30pm on Channel 7.
