Teen Mom: MTV making an Australian version of reality show - NEWS.com.au

A few years ago we got an Aussie version of Real Housewives. Now we’re getting a local version of another trashy reality show.

MTV has announced that it’s making Teen Mom Australia which it says “will explore the lives of three teen mums from different backgrounds and different corners of Australia as they try to find the right balance between childcare, working, and teenage hormones”.

What’s even more exciting is that the show hasn’t been cast yet, so if you’re a teenager with a baby who has the lofty goals of starring in a reality show, you best send in an application.

FYI: You must be 16 years or over, your youngest child must be aged under two years (you must have given birth between December 1, 2017 and December 1, 2019) and you must be available to be filmed from early March 2019 for up to 12 weeks.

The 10-part Aussie series will air on MTV on Foxtel, Foxtel Now and Fetch next year.

Teen Mom started airing in the US in 2009 and followed the lives of Maci McKinney, Catelynn Baltierra, Amber Portwood and Farrah Abraham.

The latter is arguably the most well-known personality from the show, clinging onto fame by releasing an album, a memoir and two adult movies called Farrah Superstar: Backdoor Teen Mom and Farrah 2: Backdoor and More.
