A brand new year is the best time to shake things up a bit or try something different.

That could be joining a gym, taking a pottery class or trying out a crazy shade of lipstick.

It could also include sharing a new face tattoo with your 101 million social media followers.

Pop star and professional Starbucks cup holder, Justin Bieber, went for the latter, and his fans are officially flipping out.

Now, Biebs is no stranger to the ink industry, so this latest addition should come as no surprise.

In fact, creepy fan website ‘Bieberpedia’ claims he has about 64 tattoos across his entire body — he allegedly considers “both of his sleeves to be one tattoo”.

We were all warned that he had indulged in some face ink back in November, so I’m not sure how we all missed it.

I mean, it’s on his face.

But the star must have skipped a few wax sessions, as his teeny tiny tat managed to escape our eagle eyes, until now.

Well-known tattoo artist Jonathan “JonBoy” Valena posted an image of Bieber’s face on Instagram overnight.

Positioned across the top of his right eyebrow is a thin line of cursive that spells the word ‘grace’.

Some people are claiming the word is a nod to the 24-year-old’s devout Christian faith, while others are saying it’s a tribute to his new wife, model, Hailey Baldwin, 21.

But now that the tatt is out of the bag, it’s origin story is also confusing a lot of people.

While JonBoy appears to claim ownership over the artwork, celebrity tattoo artist Bang Bang (Keith McCurdy) spoke to Page Six in November where he shared intimate details about the piece.

At the time, he said Bieber and his new wife paid him a visit and “each got a tattoo”.

“Justin’s tattoo is on his face and I haven’t seen any photos of it — so he’s doing a good job of laying low,” he said.

Mr Bang teased that the tattoo was “really thin and delicate”, not a traditional couple’s tattoo but said he didn’t want to give it away until the press got a hold of it.

But months before this, JonBoy shared an image of him with the star couple, captioned ‘Style&Grace’.

While the truth about ‘grace’s’ real father remains a mystery, fans have expressed mixed emotions about it’s design and location.
