Sylvia Jeffreys: Nine presenters shuts down publication over fake pregnancy news - NEWS.com.au

Sylvia Jeffreys swiftly put to rest any pregnancy rumours after an Australian publication suggested that she might have something “to tell us”.

The Daily Mail Australia published an article on Wednesday evening showing photos of the former Today show newsreader out and about in Sydney’s Double Bay with a female friend.

Jeffreys, 32, is also sporting “what appears to be an emerging baby bump,” according to the tabloid.

The headline reads: “Anything to tell us? Sylvia Jeffreys fuels pregnancy rumours as she gently touches her tummy in a linen shift-dress during casual outing in Sydney.”

The journalist, who is married to fellow journalist Peter Stefanovic, took a screenshot of the article, sharing it on her Twitter page and Instagram Stories.

“Nope, not pregnant,” she wrote alongside the image. “The only one fuelling that rumour would be you, @DailyMailAU. But thanks for the subtle reminder to wear spanx on all casual outings.”

A Twitter user then replied to Jeffreys, asking: “If you gently touch your tummy, what are we to expect?”

She responded: “That I was feeling very satisfied with my breakfast.” Bravo, Sylvia.

Jeffreys and Stefanovic, 37, tied the knot in April 2017 after meeting on the set of Nine’s Weekend Today back in 2013.

Jeffreys announced just before Christmas she was leaving Nine’s breakfast program but will remain with the network. The announcement came just days after Pete revealed he was parting ways with the broadcaster completely after 15 years.

Just one day later, it was revealed that older brother Karl Stefanovic, 44, had been axed from the Today show while honeymooning with his new wife Jasmine Yarbrough, 34. He also remains on at the network.
