Australian actress Abbie Cornish says she can’t wait to start a family with her MMA fiance, Abel Altamimi.
Cornish, 36, opened up about her love for the 29-year-old fighter.
“You are the man of my dreams @adelkyokushin,” she wrote. “I’m so happy we found each other here on this earth. You make me so happy. I can’t wait to start a family with you my love.”
Altamimi has a tragic backstory.
Hailing from Iraq, he drove convoys for the US Marines during the Iraq War but was captured by al-Qaeda.
He was forced to watch his cousin and a close friend decapitated and was freed by the Marines just before his own scheduled execution.
Once in the US he started training as an MMA fighter but also trains celebrities like Chris Pratt.
It is unclear how long Cornish and Altamimi have been dating as she has previously shared no pictures of him on her social media.
Cornish started dating Ryan Phillippe in 2006, the same year he split from wife Reese Witherspoon.
The pair dated for four years before calling it quits in 2010.
Cornish most recently starred in Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri but has appeared in dozens of films, including Somersault, Candy, with Heath Ledger, Elizabeth: The Golden Age and Stop-Loss.
