How to vote: 'Eurovision - Australia Decides' - SBS

Eurovision - Australia Decides is the chance for you to choose who will represent us at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2019. The show will broadcast live on SBS from the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre on Saturday 9 February and hosted by Myf Warhurst and Joel Creasey. Some of Australia’s best-known performers will take to the stage to sing original songs, for the chance to represent Australia in Tel Aviv in May.

Once the 10 artists perform for the all-important Jury Preview Show, we’ll open up the public vote, to ensure that Australians have the maximum amount of time to make this all-important decision.

How to watch the live performances

Online: Head over to the SBS Eurovision homepage (www.sbs.com.au/eurovision). Here you’ll find links to watch each of the 10 performances at the top of the page, and each performance will feature a song number.

On SBS and at SBS On Demand: Watch the live TV broadcast on SBS and streamed at SBS On Demand on Saturday 9 February from 8.30pm (AEDT). Follow the in-program directions to vote.

 

How to vote

  • Note the song number of your preferred act/s
  • Text the song number to 1991 3773
  • Ensure that Premium SMS is enabled on your phone settings
  • Voting costs $0.55 per vote and the maximum number of votes is 20 per mobile phone provider 
  • By casting a valid vote for Eurovision – Australia Decides voters will automatically be entered into the “Eurovision – Australia Decides – Win the Ultimate Trip to the Gold Coast!” competition

Vote Format

The aim of Eurovision - Australia Decides is to choose Australia’s entry for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2019. The 10 artists and their songs will perform in circumstances that are as close to those of the Eurovision Song Contest finals as possible. Those elements include:

  • live vocal performance, in front of a live audience, on live TV
  • performance in a large venue
  • ability to impress public voters
  • ability to impress professional jurors
