The countdown to Meryl Streep's arrival on Big Little Lies has officially started.
It's been two long years ago since the HBO and Sky series left fans with the lingering suspicion that the Monterey mums' murder pact wasn't going to go unpunished, but they won't be waiting much longer for answers.

Cast member Laura Dern revealed during the TCA press tour on Friday (February 8) that the second season of Big Little Lies will launch in June, and likely very soon after on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
Along with the premiere news, HBO and Sky have also released some first-look photos, all of which make it look like Madeline (Reese Witherspoon), Celeste (Nicole Kidman), Jane (Shailene Woodley) and the rest of the ladies are on edge.
They have good reason to be nervous! Another of the first-look photos shows Meryl Streep's arrival as Mary Louise Wright, mother of Celeste's murdered husband Perry.
The question of whether Alexander Skarsgård will return in flashbacks or otherwise as Perry remains to be seen. He did recently hint to Digital Spy that he "read all the scripts" for the sophomore run.
"I think people will enjoy it," Skarsgård told us. "It's very, very smart. It's very good. They found a way to stay with these characters, but in a way that feels very interesting and very surprising – hopefully – to people."

The cast have already wrapped filming on the new episodes, but Nicole Kidman has said she's keen for the group to reunite again for a third season someday.
"I think it would be hard to get the whole group together," she recently admitted, adding: "But we would love to do it."
Big Little Lies returns this June on HBO and airs soon after on Sky Atlantic.
