This week, hearts broke across the country as we watched fan-favourite Luke Toki voted off Australian Survivor just before the finale.

Despite being arguably the best player we’ve had on the show, Luke being sent home hurt a little more than usual because he actually needed the $500,000 prize money.

The FIFO worker and his wife, Mary, have two young sons with autism and a baby girl with cystic fibrosis, so the money would have made a huge difference for his family.

Now, not even two days since the episode aired, a GoFundMe page, started up by Wagga Wagga fan Dave Skow, has (as of writing) raise $445,858!!

Yesterday, the Hit Network's Heidi, Xavier & Pete with Juelz spoke to Luke about the GoFundMe page and his Survivor game.

Take a listen:

Luke also took to Instagram to thank his fans directly:

"First of all, I would like to say a huge thankyou to anyone and everyone who has donated to this 💜

"I'm still half way through my media day and I keep getting updated on the total from each and every radio station which makes me my heart ache.

"It's such a hard to post to write as I'm sooo utterly grateful.

"I am just sooo thankful to the @survivorau gods for taking a shot on me when I first applied in 2017... You have changed my family's life."

He may not have the title of Sole Survivor, but he and Mary will be able to take care of their family!
