George Michael’s partner Fadi Fawaz reportedly alleged that the pop legend took his own life when he died in 2016.
George was found dead in his home on Christmas Day 2016 at the age of 53.
His death was ruled as a result of natural causes, with senior coroner Darren Salter saying in March 2017 that George had dilated cardiomyopathy with myocarditis and fatty liver.
However, in emails allegedly seen by The Sun, Fadi – George’s boyfriend of four years – reportedly claimed that the singer died on a ‘fifth’ suicide attempt on Christmas Eve.
The alleged emails read: ‘I’m sick and tired of people asking me what happened on Christmas Day. Well let me tell you, George died on his mother’s birthday, so that might answer a few questions.
‘Not to mention it took five attempts to manage to end his life. I think it’s important for the story.’
George’s mother Lesley Harrison was born on 24 December 1938, and died of cancer in 1997.
Fadi’s alleged emails suggest that Michael was found the day after he died. It was Fadi who discovered the Faith singer’s body on Christmas morning at his home in Goring.
However, a spokesperson for George’s estate said they had ‘no trust’ in Fadi’s claims.
While the coroner ruled that George died of natural causes, the results of a post mortem were never made public at the request of his family.
Fawaz was asked to vacate the home in Regents Park that he shared with George by the Wham! star’s family. It is believed he was not included in George’s will.
Metro.co.uk has contacted Fadi for comment.
