It has now been confirmed that Meghan Markle wasn't a part of yesterday's royal crisis talks.
Despite it initially being reported the Duchess of Sussex had dialled into the 'Sandringham Summit' for part of the marathon meeting, Palace sources have confirmed this was not the case.
"In the end, The Sussexes decided that it wasn't necessary for The Duchess to join," they told multiple UK outlets.
According to The Sun's Emily Andrews, Prince Harry kept his wife "in the loop" during the meeting instead.
However, earlier it was reported Megan had called in for the end of the talks from Victoria, where she is staying with Archie, which is eight hours behind.
Directly following the Sandringham Summit, Palace officials reportedly refused to reveal if the Duchess of Sussex had been part of the discussions about her future.
Kate Middleton and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall weren't included in the conversation and neither was Prince Philip.
This is because the emergency crisis talks were for the heads of the four households Buckingham Palace, Clarence House, Kensington Palace, Sussex Royal — and therefore no spouses attended the meeting.
Shortly after the end of the meeting, Buckingham Palace issued a statement from the Queen - rare because of it's personal nature.
Her Majesty referred to the couple by their first names, rather than official titles, which is normally the case in official announcements.
The 93-year-old monarch also mentioned "family" eight times in the statement.
"Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working Members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family," the Queen noted.
Her Majesty said she is "entirely supportive" of the couple's future plans but admitted the finer details still needed to be worked out in the coming days.
The Queen confirmed a "period of transition" before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle begin splitting their time between Canada and the UK.
"These are complex matters for my family to resolve, and there is some more work to be done," she added.
