Prince Harry's first public engagement since announcing Sussexes are stepping back from their royal roles - 9Honey

Prince Harry has made his first public appearance since the Queen approved his and Meghan Markle's request to "step back" from their roles in the Royal Family.

The monarch agreed to the pair's wishes during an emergency meeting on Monday in Sandringham, days after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made the bombshell announcement.

On Thursday, Harry faced the Royal Rota — a system of approved British press for royal engagements, which the Sussexes made specific remarks about in their statement and are trying to abolish for their future endeavours.

He will also host the Rugby League World Cup 2021 draws for the men's, women's and wheelchair tournaments in an online live stream.

Prince Harry isn't the only one getting back into the swing of things.

Meghan made secret visits to projects in Vancouver earlier this week, with photos of the mother-of-one making their way online.

The Duchess of Sussex visited both the Downtown Eastside Women's Centre and charity Justice For Girls on Tuesday.

Downtown Eastside Women's Centre shared a shot of the royal mum on Facebook, revealing the passionate women's rights activist joined staff to talk about "issues affecting women in the community".

"Look who we had tea with today!" the organisation posted on social media, along with a photo of a beaming Meghan surrounded by staff members.

The Vancouver-based social justice charity shared photos with Meghan on Twitter as she enjoyed a casual chat over a cup of tea with members of its team.

"Yesterday, The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle visited to discuss climate justice for girls and the rights of Indigenous peoples," the organisation wrote.

"Was great to talk about the importance of a holistic approach to social justice, and the power of young women's leadership."

Following the meetings, Meghan was spotted taking a seaplane back to Vancouver Island, where the couple are staying in a multi-million-dollar mansion located in Victoria, Canada.
