Meghan Markle likely to wear Princess Diana's famous tiara on her wedding day

WITH less than two months to go until Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tie the knot at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on May 19, speculation on what the former Suits actress will be wearing as she walks down the aisle is well underway.

The royal bride-to-be’s engagement ring already has a connection to her fiance’s late mother, however royal experts say that Ms Markle will likely pay tribute to Princess Diana through her choice of headpiece.

If Ms Markle chooses to adorn her head with a tiara for her big day, like many royal brides before her, the odds that she choose to wear the Spencer Tiara, made famous by The Princess of Wales on her wedding day in 1981, are high.

Grant Harrold, known as the Royal Butler, said the Spencer Tiara is a probable choice for Meghan.

“If Meghan does decide to wear a tiara, I believe she may opt for the Spencer tiara which was famously worn by Lady Diana Spencer on her wedding to Prince Charles, and on many more occasions throughout her life.

‘This could be a way for Prince Harry to involve his mother in his big day, as Prince William did when he gave his future wife Kate Middleton his mother’s engagement ring.”

The Cartier Halo Scroll Tiara, worn by Kate Middleton at her wedding in 2011, has been eliminated as a contender, as the 1000-piece diamond tiara will be on display in Australia at the time of their May wedding.

The Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara — a diamond and peral encrusted headpiece that was given to Diana by the Queen as a wedding gift and has been worn by the Duchess of Cambridge — is another frontrunner.
