Anne Hathaway hits back at body shamers before they've even come for her

It seems Anne Hathaway just expects haters now, hitting back at them before they've even spoken out.

In a bold preemptive move, Anne Hathaway has taken to Instagram to warn potential body shamers that it's in their best interests to back off.

In an effort to ward off potential haters, the Academy Award-winning actress shared a video of herself working out as she announced that she plans to gain weight for an upcoming movie role. “To all the people who are going to fat shame me in the upcoming months, it’s not me, it’s you. Peace xx,” she wrote. “PS- I wanted to set this to Queen’s “Fat Bottomed Girls” but copyright said no. Continued peace xx”

It’s unfortunate that in this day and age, everyone from Gigi Hadid to Ruby Rose must attempt to explain fluctuations in their weight while mentally preparing themselves to be body shamed before stepping out in front of the paparazzi’s prying lens or posting their latest selfie—so we can see where Hathaway's motives lies.

This isn’t the first time the actress has taken to Instagram to set the record straight. In 2016, Hathaway took to Instagram to reveal that she was pregnant after paparazzi images of the actress with a visible baby bump were released.

So internet trolls beware, Hathaway is watching and if you come for her, she's ready.

Let's block ads! (Why?)
