MEGHAN Markle’s dad has dropped off some flowers at his ex-wife’s in a peace offering ahead of their daughter’s wedding.
Thomas Markle Sr left the pot of blooms on the doorstep of Doria Ragland’s LA home.
His gesture seemed to be well received when she found the gift hours later.
Former Hollywood lighting director Mr Markle, 73, and social worker Ms Ragland, 61, married in 1979 but divorced in 1988 when Meghan was a toddler.
“Thomas is clearly trying to work his charm on Doria before the wedding,” a source said.
“With the eyes of the world on them both, it makes sense.
“There have been various squabbles in Meghan’s wider family, but her mum and dad have remained largely silent and both want to do their absolute best for her.”
Mr Markle is understood to have gone home to Rosarito, Mexico, after visiting Ms Ragland’s home.
Neither have flown to London yet despite the wedding being just one week away.
The pair will meet the Queen and Prince Philip days before the Windsor Castle ceremony.
They will also be introduced to Prince Charles and Camilla, best man Prince William and Kate.
In a break with tradition, social worker Ms Ragland will travel in the car with Ms Markle, 36, to Windsor Castle.
She will get out at St George’s Chapel before the bride is driven to the West Door, where she will be met by Thomas Sr.
He will then walk his daughter down the aisle.
Kensington Palace said last week: “It’s very important to Ms Markle that her parents have roles in her wedding.”
The couple will tie the knot next Saturday at Windsor Castle, home to British royals for nearly 1,000 years.
US BISHOP TO GIVE ROYAL WEDDING ADDRESS
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have asked a senior American bishop to deliver the address at their wedding next week.
Kensington Palace has announced that the Most Reverend Michael Bruce Curry will join Justin Welby, the spiritual head of the Anglican communion, for the wedding which is expected to be watched by millions of people around the world.
Rev. Curry, the 27th Presiding Bishop and Primate of the Episcopal Church, was the first African-American presiding bishop when elected in 2015. Mr Welby will preside over the exchange of vows, while the service itself will be conducted by the Dean of Windsor.
“The love that has brought and will bind Prince Harry and Ms Meghan Markle together has its source and origin in God, and is the key to life and happiness,” Rev. Curry said in a statement.
“And so we celebrate and pray for them today.”
Ms Markle was baptised by the Most Reverend Justin Welby ahead of her wedding to the prince, whose grandmother, the Queen, is head of the Anglican Church.
The United States-based Episcopal Church is a constituent member of the global Anglican Communion, of which the Church of England is the Mother Church.
According to its website, Rev. Curry has been active in issues of social justice including immigration policy and marriage equality.
