Matthew Perry posts two concerning tweets about therapy - NEWS.com.au

Friends star Matthew Perry has sparked concern for his wellbeing after he declared he had been “kicked out of therapy” on Twitter.

The 49-year-old best known for his portrayal of ‘the funny guy’ Chandler Bing on Friends was flooded with responses from fans wishing him well.

Perry has been open about his battles with alcohol and painkiller Vicodin in the past, he also suffered a gastrointestinal perforation last year that left him bedridden for months.

He said he spent three months in hospital seeking treatment for it.

In the last year years Perry has been mostly quiet, apart from sharing his love of Tennis and New York as well as some Chandler-esque sarcasm online.

After his post about therapy, the top comment in response was a well-known Chandler quote “I’m not great at advice, can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?”

The second biggest response was an image of Chandler’s ex-girlfriend Janice saying “Oh! My! God!”

Others were more serious, saying that sharing Friends quotes in response to a possible cry for help was insensitive.

“I don’t know what’s going on, but I hope you’re all right and have people that support you.”

Almost a day later Perry returned to Twitter to say he was OK and getting the help that he needed.

In the last few years, Perry has tried to distance himself from his Friends days, in 2016 he skipped a cast reunion as he was committed to his play, The End of Longing.
