Harry Styles stalker: Pablo Tarazaga-Orero found guilty - NEWS.com.au

A 26-year-old man has been found guilty of stalking popstar Harry Styles for three months outside his North London home.

The ordeal began when Styles spotted the homeless man sleeping in a bus shelter near his home, prompting him to offer him money to buy food.

“I thought it was sad someone so young was sleeping rough — that anyone was when it was so cold. I felt sorry for him,” Styles told the jury at Hendon Magistrates’ Court, as reported by Metro.

The man, Pablo Tarazaga-Orero, refused money “for religious reasons” so Styles instead purchased sandwiches, salads, and muffins for him from a nearby cafe.

After delivering the food, Styles tried to cease contact with Tarazaga-Orero, but he continued to camp outside the star’s home every night, allegedly posting notes into his letterbox for months.

The Sign of the Times singer told District Judge Nigel Deane he had followed him to the pub on occasion.

“I saw him incredibly often. Almost every day. I could feel him watching me. It made me feel incredibly uncomfortable,” he said.

“He would sit in my eye line,” Styles recalled of seeing him at the pub.

“He tried to speak to me on the second occasion as I was leaving. He would just kind of watch and look over and wait for me to leave. I was very confused, very very uncomfortable, very confused, I didn’t really understand it.”

The matter escalated in May when Tarazaga-Orero lunged at the star while he was jogging through Regent’s Park, after which he employed extra security and installed a “panic lock” on his bedroom door.

“I never really encountered this kind of behaviour before,” Styles told the court. “I’ve employed a night guard. I continue to lock my bedroom door at night.

“I find myself assessing my residence and weak spots in it,” he added.

“I worry about it. If I see people on multiple occasions I view them differently than I would before.”

The court heard Tarazaga-Orero believed that he was “the soulmate of Harry Styles” and was “spiritually protecting him.”

He claimed that the star offered him money to have “some fun” in a hotel on their first meeting, which Styles vehemently denied.

District Judge Nigel Dean said Tarazaga-Orero “knew perfectly well that what he was doing amounted to harassment of Mr Styles,” adding that he was “quite satisfied that this behaviour had the effect of harassing (him).”

The sentencing was adjourned at Hendon Magistrates court and Tarazaga-Orero was released on conditional bail.
