After the shock news that Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth were separating after just eight months of marriage, it appeared Miley had already moved on as photos quickly emerged of the singer kissing Kaitlynn Carter.
And now friends are apparently hopeful Liam may be able to do the same, according to Woman’s Day.
A source claims Liam and former Home and Away star Isabel Lucas have been “spending some time together”, as he retreated to Byron Bay seeking comfort from his family and friends.
“Liam's in Byron staying with Chris. Isabel moves in the same social circles up there, and they've spent some time together,” an insider told the publication.
“They've become quite good friends. She's there to take his mind off things and she's been an excellent person to turn to for advice.”
Isabel, who dated Liam’s brother Chris in the early 2000s, is currently single, and it’s been said friends are hopeful the 34-year-old and Liam’s friendship will blossom into something more.
It’s been reported his parents would love to see him with someone who is one the same page - “an Aussie who loves the ocean, is a bit more mature and socially aware. Isabel ticks a lot of those boxes,” the source adds.
Liam asks for privacy
A few days after news of his separation from Miley made world headlines, Liam broke his silence on the split in an emotional post on his Instagram page.
He shared a post in which he acknowledged their breakup and asked for privacy.
“Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward,” he captioned an image of a sunset.
”This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets,” he continued.
Miley accused of 'faking' new romance
After photos emerged from their Italian holiday, Miley and Kaitlynn, who is Brody Jenner’s ex, were accused of faking their new romance to “mess with their two ex-husbands”.
Brandon Thomas Lee, son of Pamela Anderson and rocker Tommy Lee, who is also one of Brody Jenner and Kaitlynn’s co-stars spoke of his shock when he first saw the photos of Miley and Kaitlyn making out.
“I don’t know, I didn’t want to even get involved with it, but it just seems so fake to me,” the 23-year-old told The Daily Pop.
“It’s just like, why? They’re just obviously messing with their two ex-husbands. And they’re all friends. It just seems so ridiculous to me.”
Miley and Liam’s tumultuous relationship
Miley and Liam had a lot of ups and downs before they decided to tie the knot in an intimate Nashville wedding in December.
The dynamic duo first met on the set of the film The Last Song in 2009.
Miley was spotted wearing a ring for the first time in March of 2012, but the pair broke up in 2013, before reuniting in 2016.
